It is no news that the way we look now is different from how we look 10 years ago. Hence, age has become a mystery to many who doesn't understand the factor behind it.
It is known that our body cell, which is the functional, structural and the fundamental unit and element of Life which breeds our existence, changes as we age. One parent cell divides into two daughter cells, while the two daughter cells grows and divide to four and so on and so forth through a process know as mitosis which can be pictured in DNA replication. After these cells divides, they differentiates to their respective tissue, while these tissues differentiates to Organ and Organs to system by a phenomenon known as the level of organization of Life.
It is note worthy to know that living cells are less viable as their activities becomes weaker with age after attaining their peak of growth. I'll be making this a general article because it concerns us all, hence i won't be too scientific in my expression for easy understanding for all of us.
Change starts from birth till death. The only phase in life we don't experience further changes in our body system is when we die. In as much we still live, we're prone to undergo physiological and morphological changes over time till death take its course.
As we grow older, our metabolism slows down as food now takes more time to digest than usual. source
Our body cells become larger and are less able to divide and multiply. Among other changes, there is an increase in pigments and fatty substances inside the cell such as lipids. Many cells lose their ability to function, or they begin to function abnormally.source
Aging skin then looks thinner, paler and clearer. Large pigmented spots, including age spots, liver spots, or lentigos, may appear in sun-exposed areas. Changes in the connective tissue reduce the skin's strength and elasticity. This is known as elastosis. source
Generally, the amount of fat you carry increases as you age, while muscle mass, lean tissue, and bone mineral density decrease. Total body water is also likely to decrease as you age. These changes, in turn, can cause visible changes to how your body looks and feels source

Due to a decreasing level of estrogen, which appears to influence where fat is distributed in the body, many women also notice an increase in belly fat as they get older even if they aren't gaining weight.
I will like to stop here for now, I hope this post is helpful to us one way or the other.
