Today, I will be discussing on notable keys to implement when building a long lasting relationship either with your lover, your friend or in an organization settings. It's no longer news that we're used to this statement in quote:“I Love You”, but believe me, such a statement is very easy to say but difficult to sustain especially when the going gets tougher with time as interpersonal conflicts might arise between the two parties in the long run.
From a unique perspective to be realistic, True Love is said to be a choice of connection fueled by strong innermost desire or feelings of emotion, affection and psychological wellbeing towards a person we consider more valuable ❤️ to us. So, saying "I Love you" means "I choose you”.
It is worthy to note that, In demonstrating true love, your will must be involved irrespective of the guidance and counselings you receive one way or the other. Love is a decision, it's affectionate as a source of intimacy.

In a more general sense, to love means to understand the value, worth and significance of a person to God, you and humanity. Hence, the only part of Love that is said to find an unconditional expression is Choice, but the honor, joy and satisfaction that comes with Love is conditional.
When you're in love with a person, you'll definitely be passionate towards such a person, not being afraid or ashame of your vulnerability. This projects a level of confidence and commitment in both parties, but it is important to note that before you embark on your love journey, the purpose and motive behind your relationship must be penstakingly defined. A saying goes that "when the purpose of something is not known, abuse is said to be inevitable". So a relationship is expected to be clearly defined with a concrete purpose at its beginning, in order for both parties to know the direction they are heading towards.
It is wonderful to note that True love is honorable as both parties respect each other's opinion. Respect is said to be reciprocal and it's a unique identity that help sustain a better and rewarding relationship. However, it becomes challenging when there is no definite agreement or clarity of intention or purpose before embarking on a longtime relationship with a partner. It results in uncertainties.
Below, are the three (3) key factors to implement when building a long lasting relationship include;
- Clarity of Motives
- Clarity of Roles
- Clarity of Expectations
1. Clarity of Motives
In any relationship, there must be clarity or definiteness of Motives. Motive determines level of commitment. The clearer the motive, the deeper the commitment. Many relationships today are built on a wrong motive and most of the reason is due to pressure to exit singleness, or loneliness, Love movies fantasy and awareness of the passage of age and time are the three (3) key reasons why many goes into relationship.
Define your motives and never get carried away by the flamboyancies of your life or partner. Motives are intentions for either seeking God or wanting a wife, husband or a job. If not properly defined, will end someone in total frustration sooner or later in life. Many relationships are built on wrong motives due to one trivial or personal reasons or the other.
Now in the context of courtship or marriage, Financial advantages should never be the basis of a relationship. It'll be a terrible thing to marry a person because of his/her financial status. This crumbles relationship rapidly when the means of the love and commitments (Money) is no longer forthcoming as usual. This issue has become the pillar of love and marital philosophy that has destabilized many homes and family today. Remember that children will come from your marriage. So work with the right motive.
2. Clarity of Roles

For progress to be evident, there must be clarity of roles. Conflicts and Challenges arises when one of the parties is deficient in his/her roles. In a relationship there's no bigmanism, you must be ready to be vulnerable. No system works when there's no clarity of roles. Define your roles as it is your design that powers your identity. Be principled and set boundaries. A proverb state that "a man who does not have control over his home is like a city without walls".
3. Clarity of Expectations
without clarity of Expectations there's no basis for creating progress as many relationships go unrewarded because there's no proper clarity of expectations from the onset of their relationship. This is among the reason why most relationship starts on a natural ground but not couldn't be sustained successfully. Fight and quarrel remains the lot of many who trivializes clarity. Be outspoken and define what you want with your partner in your relationship not to keep filling water in baskets.
